Ok, so I know I wont be here but I think people should start talking about who definently wants to go. I think if we can start planning for it and getting together a list of your percentage of going then it would help alot. We can also use this thread for anyone who has any questions about Irene. I know the guys who went this last time can answer any questions you have about the event. If you have any general questions please ask. We are all about this event. I dont know anyone who didnt have a great time that went. Later DOc

I've been wanting to go for several years. I think this might be the year. I've got good weapons to fit both sides now. Just would have to get mid caps...

Just remember that you have to have a gun that shoots within the FPS limit and they are really strict witht he FPS limits. If I remember correctly it is 376 fps. Just a heads up , later DOc

I would love to go to Irene, but it's going to be hard for me to afford registration itself, let alone a completely new loadout. So basically if I can use my SCAR-L then I might be able to swing going. Because then I could spend a little money instead of having to buy a new gun and a loadout. I really don't want another M4 platform after I sell mine, I was hoping to buy the Mauri Deagle or a ARES UMP.
So I guess I'm a maybe, not just because I'm not sure about information, but money as well.

I'm not worried about FPS. I can make a gun perform pretty good well below 376 FPS! I was one and two shotting people at Frog Holler with my King Arms M4 at 140+ feet and it shoots 320. But if we go American, I have two M4s. If not, I only have the one AK... Though hopefully by then my HK21E is done. I can use that assuming they allow it as an LMG. We can probably work something up for weapons if people need them. There's a few people on the team with lotsa guns!

Also, do we still have the 09 Irene rules around someplace? It might help those who are interested to have a ballpark idea of what the rules are for future gun/gear purchases

Be advised, that's 376 with .25s
My situation is too nebulous for me to commit right now, but if I have the means I'd love to go again.

FYI: 376 fps with .25s = 420 with .2s

if you guys are worried about fps stuff check out my thread that I made while swaping different barrels and springs for IreneVII. There is the initial post and then the last post wtih updated info. ksuat.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=irene&action=display&thread=1165The 1 thing that Irene is relaxed on is your weapon. There were more M4's on the Freedom Fighter team than anything else. So shane, no worries about your weapon. For sure you will all need midcaps though. As for an LMG. sadly there are rules for this. There is basically only 1 LMG allowed per fireteam (at least with last years rules). So once you get registered you get with your Squad Leader and request that position if you have an LMG. However, the FF team is so unorganized (by design) that if you were to break out an LMG after the game started I doubt anyone would say anything (bet they wouldn't even notice). I, myself, will be going FF again. Not going to go Ranger side. I think the FF team had TONS more fun than the rangers... and we won! I bet the other Irene vets will agree with me on this point: However many pistol mags you think you need, add 50% more to you your loadout. And buy your dream pistol before Irene. You WILL get to use it a lot and you want one that won't fail you. oh and bring a backup (AEP is good, not the super cheap ones though). I broke my KWA USP during the night game but luckily had my USP AEP as backup. You will burn ammo VERY fast in an urban setting. Store extra mags back at the regen, that way when you die, just go back, drop your old mags, pick up new ones and get back in there!

Ok, for those of you who are 100% here is the place you need to look for all your info on rules and regs. Read all of these very carefully and take into consideration that yes some of these arent looked into too hard but if someone has a complaint about you then you will be spot checked on spot and can get kicked for violations. Plus the chronno is very strict. Be sure to check this site for rulse. oplionclaws.com/fieldcombatrules.phpLater DOc

I suppose they wouldn't let me wear my OTV with soft armor as FF would they? Also, out of curiosity, how many pistol mags would be recommended?

You could wear an OTV, plus I would recomend at least 5 mags. I brought 4 the last Irene and I definently would have liked more but had no where to put them. Oh , and just so you know I wore my plate carrier to the last irene, so dont worry it is not an issue. Later DOc

I rolled 4 pistol mags and used every bit of them on several occasions.
You can basically wear any tac gear you want. but keep in mind guys, it is a role playing scenario. Its a lot of fun to look all rag tag and still kick butt! I mean heck, look at the pic of the 6 of us that went to OPIVI. Raggy McRaggerson for sure!

Sweetness! I was worried that I'd have to get a different vest like an LBV or something a bit more minimalistic for FF... If I can wear my OTV, I'm set! I'll probably run a couple drop legs with my Kimber and pistol mags and my OTV will have all my rifle mags.
