Green Team Position: Operative/Command Element (Kilo) Game 1: Force on Force in Junkyard 1. Marksmen element was to move to the right flank while Kilo moves in from the front to gain a foothold. Marksmen element had trouble traversing the terrain and couldn't effectively support Kilo. Kilo operatives moved in via cover to cover and pinched on the OPFOR, eliminating one at a time until all were eliminated. Game 2: Scenario was that the Russians and US were sent to investigate a bombing. After mission brief, squad elements moved in on the objective, Taco. Instructions were sent from Kilo element to not allow BLUEFOR operatives to be surrounded by the other team, hostilities were expected to ensue. Neutral team turned to OPFOR on command from their command element. Kilo element was around the North side of Taco, and was able to effectively eliminate OPFOR in their AO, and moved up via cover to cover with suppressive fire to finish eliminating OPFOR. A hostage was taken and Kilo 2 (me) medic'd all BLUEFOR operatives that were downed. Objective (mortar tube) in hand, all squad elements moved in to the final objective, the LZ on top of chrome dome hill to hold for 30M for BLUEFOR air support and EXFIL. Squad elements set up defenses and almost immediately had OPFOR contacts in the AO. Utilizing sectors of fire, defending elements were able to eliminate all OPFOR operatives in the AO. Game 3: Force on Force on Force in northern field. 3 teams of 2, with one hostage in the middle. Objective is to get hostage, and take back to insertion, holding for 10M. Kilo element utilized the pinch many times this game to overcome the 2 on 4 odds. Eventually, 2 teams began to eliminate each other after Kilo was taken down. Kilo 2 went to respawn and came back shooting the last OPFOR operative alive to regain control of the objective, medic Kilo 1, and fall back to insertion to hold objective until ENDEX. OPFOR contacts respawned and came back en-force to recapture, but again, the pinch was used, and all operatives were eliminated.
Review: I saw a lot of good things Sunday, and props to Zach and Chris - you guys did really well, especially you, Chris (didn't see much of you, Zach). The rallies for attacks went well for both teams, and both utilized excellent maneuvers to outperform the other team. Had the pinch on the top of the hill been executed a little better, Tan would have regained the objective. Teams were a bit unbalanced, especially for the last game, with everyone's guns going down. The AO on the 2nd game was a little big A lot of people were late getting out there, which is a bit disappointing.
Props to Caleb and Shane for the 2nd Scenario, and awesome job to everyone for this Sunday, we're getting a LOT better, and it's very obvious. Apologies about the teams being un-balanced, but we had some really good operators matched up with the 2 new guys, 1 on each team. I think everyone did awesome in the face of adversity, and I hope that we can continue this trend.
