I was Tan team lead. Our mission was to locate an intersection. We had actionable intel that an HVT would be traveling down that road at a precise time and needed to place an IED to take him out. The bomb must be in place at the specific time since it is already set and we cannot deactivate it.
My plan was to use a little bit of Psi Warfare. After take the point from 2 OpFor that held it, we planted them bomb. Then after they moved on we removed the bomb and kept it off-site with one of our guys. The idea was to confuse the OpFor into thinking the IED had been placed (they would then waste time trying to locate it). This appeared to work. Several other small engagements ensued however I told my guys to evade enemy fire if possible.
The plan was that with 30 minutes left on the clock we would retake the point with extreme violence of action. Once secured we would bring the bomb carrier up and replant the IED. We would then make a 'last stand' to defend the objective and take out the HVT.
It went down exactly how I planned except only Wayne was at the intersection. It was at this point we learned that the majority of green team had gone back to the cars. All of Tan team (posted in a 360 around the point) with Wayne and York from green team decided we would call it on account of heat and the absence of green team.
-End of Mission-
My Thoughts: I know I went over this at the onsite AAR but I will say it again for those who did not make it out. BRING YOUR RADIOS AND HEADSETS! Our team did well b/c of our comms. Comms are the ultimate force multiplier. Every move that green made, as long as one of our guys could see them, was sent up the chain so our entire team knew greens location. We were able to move (most of the time) unmolested because of this. Bring a headset so that you don't give away your position and loose it for your team b/c your radio was to loud. Everyone should also have a radio just for safety reasons. Places like KCAA require this and we use to as well. The radio is the only way to get a "blindman" call to the entire field.
It is fine if you feel you need to sit the game out and return to the safe zone but please make it known. All Tan team knew was that some Greens walked by yelling "Deadman, we are going to the cars." Nothing was said about not coming back. By my estimation the last 30 minutes of the game was Tan team and 2 greens on the field. It wasn't until Wayne said that he 'thought' the other greens left the game that we had any idea this had happened. Simple mistake but in the future please make it known that you are not coming back in.
Final Thoughts: Very happy with Tan team. Everyone followed my orders, even if it meant not getting into firefights. Great Comms.
Took my first tooth shot! Heh. Good shot York!
