This is a long going project.... I have a CA M-4 RIS that I bought years ago and I wanted to convert it. Originally it had a PEQ that held the battery but I wanted a Crane stock on the gun so I have been rewiring the gun to be rear-wired. So here is the problem.... I cant fit the battery and the fuse in the buffer right now.... where do you put the fuse in the line on a rear wired gun? A good description such as wire lengths or pictures would be very helpful. ;D Another issue is that when I put it back together when I place the selector switch to auto, it starts shooting without the trigger being pulled. The semi is ok and only fires when I pull the trigger, where did I go wrong? Thanks for the help. Dan

I think your grounding out somewhere. And Fuses, imo just get in the way. Make sure you have good wires and good lenght. Look on line for airsoft wire diagrams for rewiring if you get stuck somtimes this will help. You also need to fix the buffer tube and bracket to make sure the wire don't get pinched.

Make sure you have the right set screw for the buffer tube and I would go with a fuse. Put it in the buffer tube right at the start next to the set screw. This will save your gun and wiring just in case you have a ground out and your wires fry like mine did about a month ago. If you don't have a crane stock yet , get one. You can buy batteries at chepbatterypacks.com . This is the best place to get batteries. Just make sure you get the right connectors. I would run a 10.8 v in your gun. I have the exact same gun and have modded it and repaired it beyond its rasonable service life with the help of greg.
Cosmetic note. Get a dremil and saw off your front sight post leaving a gas regulator looking piece left only. This will allow better sight picture for optics and will improve your chances of not snagging your gun on the sight post. If you need to look at my gun let me know. We can set up a time and you can come check it out.
Any other mods , just go with steel bearings and a high torque high speed motor and a silent piston head. Use high temperature high torque lubrication for your bearings.
A very awesome mod you can buy is a 3 round burst trigger mod. Instead of having auto you will burst 3 rounds. It helps conserve BBs and also accuracy. This also brings realism to your game and gun. Also, get a madbull mock sound suppressor. This will make your gun look awesome. When you do this get some crazy glue or guerrilla glue and glue down the ring that is behind your compensator . Doing this will keep dirt and dust out of your barrel threads and out of your barrell. Also get a 6.03 barrell. This will improve your accuracy a little . Just be sure to swab it before and after every use. Get a nice 120 or 130 spring.
Another thing about batteries. Get a 5000 mah battery. This battery if discharged and recharged correctly will give you awesome long life of battery time. I went two strait days without changing batteries at irene with one of these.
If you neeed more help let me or greg know. I own this exact gun. CA M15A4 CQB. It is now a CA M15A6C-SD.
Good luck and have fun. Just don't get discouraged when things ground out. That's what wire insulation doubling is for. Later DOc

On the fuse issue..... mine currently has the standard tube type. I have seen automobile types used and I am thinking that it would be worthwhile to conserve space. Any idea what would be a good size for running a 9.6v battery? Thanks Dan
