What's your budget? Can you get your own gun and gear?

Watch for games and come out. State that you need a weapon and gear and some of the team will try to help you out.

Take advantage of the local army surplus stores for your gear if you are on a budget

Unless things have changed since I've been there, Junction City is probably your best bet for thrift stores... There's a Military Surplus Outlet, someone help me with the cross-streets.
Marinesbulldog, I'd suggest you stay away from a marksman platform. If you've got your heart set, the guys will support you as best they can and point you in the right direction, but in my 11 years airsoft experience, typically, people aren't happy with airsoft if they start out in a marksman role. At the very least, I'd suggest getting an AEG that can double as a DMR like an M14, or SR25 (I know these don't come stock pulling hard, but the accuracy and hop-up allow for easy transition into the role if you want to pursue it further.)
With an AEG, you can practice the marksman role while still being effective in CQC/CQB. With a bolt-action spring or gas assist, you'll have trouble in a firefight. I've only ever seen Ben and I think Caleb do well with Bolt Action marksman platforms in those situations.
Just trying to help you out and make sure you have fun out on the field. If you've got your heart set on a marksman platform, we'll make sure you get what you need. Good luck my friend!
