Hi all, I'm looking to join the team in the battlefield, time permitting, and am looking at the kwa km4a1 and km4 ris. For sidearm the kwa 1911a1 US Army or the kwa h&k mk23 ussocom. My question is are these guns reliable? Also, is it easy to put a scope on the rifles no problem? I like the styling of them and from what I can gather kwa makes good weapons. Thanks for your help/input/advice!

I can't really tell you bout KWA, but I've heard good things. Scopes are no problem at all, but, in case you didn't know, are mostly for show. They can be nice for spotting, especially in more wooded areas, but most people don't use them for actual firing. It's generally much easier to walk you bb's in by eye.

KWA makes some of the best gas airsoft handguns on the market as far as off the shelf weapons go. I've seen KWA M9 PTPs with the frame completely packed with mud and it still would cycle. KWA makes the best gas system hands down although in the 1911 market, I do prefer to go with a Tokyo Marui based gun just for the availability of upgrades.
KWA's rifles are also top shelf. I've never owned a KWA myself but I've known a lot of people who have and I've never heard one complaint. Most KWA rifles I've seen as far as exterior quality rival that of brands like VFC. I've shot a KWA M16 before and was impressed with it for a stock gun coming from someone who doesn't run stock anything.
If they have a top rail, any standard optic can be attached. However I would recommend a red dot sight over a scope. M4s aren't really long enough or have the range to really need a scope. Personally I only run scopes on DMRs and leave the rest with irons or red dots. Airsoft really doesn't shoot far enough to need a scope anyways. Most guns shoot out to about 150 feet. The happiest I've ever been with a scope myself was a 4x ACOG I had for a while. It seemed a good blend of not much magnification and it had a decent field of view.
I would 100% recommend getting a KWA if you don't mind dropping the cash on it. Pistol wise, they are the way to go if you never intend to upgrade your hand gun which most people don't anyways. For an out of the box gun, they are reliable and very high quality. As far as rifles, they are awesome as well. You definitely wouldn't regret purchasing one.
