Hey everyone, I'm interested in buying a co2 pistol sometime soon. I'm a sniper so I need a more reliable side arm than my current spring pistol (shouldn't be too hard to find one). What brand or make of co2 pistol would you suggest? I really just want something accurate, reliable and preferably under $100. I would be open to buying a used co2 pistol off someone else if I could test it out first.
Thanks

Honestly dude, I'd get a green gas/propane pistol instead. C02 is really hard on the internals, meaning your gun isn't going to last as long. Plus, most of the KSUAT guys seem to run propane, so you don't even really have to worry bout C02 cartridges (which are expensive compared to propane). The only benefit to C02 is the increased power you get out of those guns, but since you're rarely going to be using your pistol beyond 50-60 feet, it doesn't really matter all that much. Plus, there's usually a better better selection of green gas guns available. I did a little digging over on Evike (feel free to look around other sites, thats just my go to) and found this gun www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_45_241&products_id=29581 for 99 bucks. It's a 1911 style gun, so it looks d**n nice, and it's a hicapa, so it loads 30 rounds in the mag it comes with. It's also compatible with Tokyo Marui hicapa mags, of which there are a TON so you'd have all sorts of options. And speaking of those mags, if you check the site I linked, for $10 you can get a C02 mag in addition to the green gas mag. If that's not to you liking, check out sites like Evike, Airsoftgi, Ehobbyasia, places like that, and look for guns from brands like Tokyo Marui (expensive), KWA (less expensive), or KJW (the one I linked was a KJW. Those are the brands I've heard the best reviews for. Another option is WE, who has a middling reputation as some people will swear by their gas blowback pistols, and others have never had one that didn't crap out in a couple of months. I actually own a WE M9 and have yet to have any problems with it. On a very side note, I'll sell you my WE M9 for $50 bucks if you want it. I rarely have a need to use it, so I've actually stopped gassing it up for anything other than pistols-only games. If you want to go that route, just lemme know and we'll meet up sometime.

I got the pistol Jim suggested in the link above. I've heard a lot of good things about KJW.

Ive owned KJW pistols for a loooong time and never had an issue. Ive seen WE's go down countless times and im not personally interested in my backup being unreliable. I currently use a KJW p229 and I LOVE it. Best pistol ive used in a long time and better (IMO) than a lot of the others out there. Its not terribly expensive but it is not under 100 $. Its worth it however. Ive used it a lot and I run it into the ground. Still works flawlessly. Plus its got a functional decocker which is good. Its on airsplat.com. Id stay away from co2 if at all possible. Some fields wont allow them, its expensive to run, and its hard on internals.

I just got back from being in Mexico for two months, so today was the first day that I have attempted to shoot my pistol. However, After I fill the gas magazine with the propane/silicone oil mix, and put it in the gun, it still doesn't shoot. If I push the gas release button on the mag, then gas comes out so I know that it has gas in it, but for some reason it isn't releasing the gas into the gun when I try to shoot it. Any help would be very appreciated!

Are you back in Manhattan yet dude?
If I had to guess from that little info, I'd say your hammer isn't hitting hard enough to depress the valve. However, you mentioned that you can push the valve down...if you had enough gas in the gun, that'd be really hard to do.

I wont be back in Manhattan until the 19th or later. That would make since to me also that its not hitting the valve hard enough, but how would i go about fixing that? Also would I need to fill the mags with more gas so that its difficult to push the valve? Something a little unrelated is that the duel safety's don't seem to work. They don't budge when i have tried to flip the safety on - is that because there has to be gas in the gun? One of them came a little loose when i first tried to move it.
Sigh...
Thanks for your help.

Honestly, having not held that particular gun in person, I can't really tell you for sure what the problem is. When you get back into town, shoot me a message and I'd love to look at it for you. I don't know all that much about fixing gas pistols, but I do have the Google and I'm pretty mechanically inclined so there's a good chance I could get it figured out.

I fixed the gun! Evike sent me a video showing how to fix the manufacture's defect. Now it works like a charm
